On November 12, 2010, the Bangkok Metropolitan University Act B.E. 2553 (2010) was published in the Royal Gazette and came into effect on Saturday, November 13, 2010. This act transferred the responsibilities and budget of the Kuakarun College of Nursing to the Bangkok Metropolitan University, establishing it as the "Faculty of Nursing Kuakarun." Its official establishment was announced in November 2010.
